So much goodness in this thread. itismario: That creature is looking awesome man. Loving the style so far. Tacit: You're giving me all sorts of good feels Here's a 2 hour sick sketch.
Finally have the time to finish off an older piece! My first creature (I'm an enviro person). I got some great crits from DustinBrown that I will implement and see how it turns out
it's always weird how a creature seems the most alien when they're mostly exposed musculature. somehow you took something with flow and made it look spikey (crotch protrusion notwithstanding.) it looks pretty cool!
cmesaros and Kbrom12 - looks like an awesome project! Nice assets and enviros... is there a website for the game? giles - sick creature man! Nice challenge you got goin' on for yourself. Looking forward to seeing more creepy critters!
Cross post :icon_exclaim: I started a new creature and am tracking progress/taking CnC in my first Polycount thread. Exciting :D More in the thread though. :) http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100332
Oh wow, loving the characters and creatures on here... I'm kind of out of my league, but I'll try too! Everyone here is so inspiring. I want to get better! Any comments, critiques, and advice are much appreciated.
Working on a new concept, Female Borg type character to add to my website. I have a few creatures and now a new Knight character, needed a couple of female characters there. I will be modeling over the next few weeks.
This is a creature I made for a school exercise I had to mix an animal with a human. It's a rhino mixed with a human, first i did some research about the skin, rhino's have a very thick skin and they have allot of wrinkles. http://artofguti.blogspot.com/
Klash-120: I would consider muting your colors in the environment. The gold and reds distract the eye from the creatures and their purple eggs. I had trouble keeping my attention on them, which is what I would guess you're going for.
my advice would be to not start out by trying to do a full creature every day... when you are learning it can help immensely to take your time. Don't worry about speed yet, work on quality, speed comes with experience. ¬Woog
