I actually made the bake in xNormal to the flat plane, but later decided to extrude few shapes in the plane because it looked quite flat, I guess I could still optimize it so it would not have as many triangles as it has right now. It has no specular or gloss map this far, I can make it any time, so only Normal, Diffuse…
Looks pretty nice man, I would bring up the levels in the image though, the highlights zone is almost completley flat. also adding some dust particles in there could really help sell it. I would add some blue to the ambient shadows to get the sky bouncing in them, maybe something like this:
weekend anatomy fun, same base, different build type exploration inspired by SD's work on the brink character types....I think that I need to push this a lot further: ace face fuse, she feels a little flat across the face to me, wadayarecon? Luke and PogoP: killing it in 2 dimensions guys!
Well I was going to stop after doing this robots leg but then I deiced fuck it and just finished the rest of it ha :) Had to change a few things most notably the grill as the concept has a flat grill but on curved skull which couldn't actually happen when turned to 3d. Original Creature Box Concept
Great sculpt! Small crit: Nice hands. Thumbs look a little odd though. The curve between the knuckle and the nail tip is a little extreme. Its normally quite flat but some do curve. But not that much. Edit: actually, just looking at it again. The 3 largest fingers seem a little stretched and elongated also.
Damn nice ocarian, I love it! I like the way you painted the clothes and specially the hair, but IMHO I feel the skin is somewhat lacking in detail, it looks flat compared to the rest. Maybe just painting subtle tone differences like some soft ambient occlusion on the inside of the elbows and knees or the armpits.
then your sling is not right or simply the way its mounted is wrong, that never bends that way, it should bend on the flat side. the piece that is hold on the barrel, can be move in some models, and changed in position, usually it comes free so it can rotates around to fit different positions. but when its fixed it always…
Just about done with this guy Got a setting together in Maya and Unity that works out like a charm. This is exactly how he'll look in game for mobile texture flats It was painted at 1024 (this is 512) and final texture will be 256x256. Only at extreme close shots can you REALLY tell the difference between the 1024 and 256…
@HawtKoffee how'd you go about setting up your color scheme like that? I absolutely loooove how it looks. Is that unlit? I'd love to see some flats I think the anatomy of the chest/stomach texture could use some work though...something about it just needs kinda wierd and off
Hey man, the round tiles and the flat tiles are just separate, yay for floating geo! And then for each wall piece there are four versions of the completed roof in the picture. This is so i can have different length walls around my level! If that didn't make sense i'll make another picture, I think i confused myself!
