 Indeed. All the talk about the new one made me want to do something with the old style. Will see if it gets put into an engine or just keep it as a pretty-project thing... Would be a good exercise in modular cyber punk stuff.
edit: normal jpg screenshot, more reliable shot from directly in the engine, instead of converted to 8 bit from HDR in photoshop second edit: added UDK screenie so first one is CE3 SDK, second one is UDK
Orb- Thanks! You're right I will work on the emissive some more. SeanEG - Thanks, will post more often here from now on:) gmax5 - I used Zbrush for highpoly and texturing, max and topogun for retopo and low res and it's rendered in marmoset engine.
the latest game Ive been working on is climbing the free apps chart on itunes :) http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/paper-glider-bomber/id426913233?mt=8 I used this great little particle rendering engine to make the particle sprites: http://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/
Very envious of you Rooster. I'm sure you've answered this many times, but what engine are you using (Unity?) and were you an artist before learning how to program, or Visa Versa. Nothing but respect for you good sir, can't wait to see more.
Here is something I am doing in my spare time. Its the first time I am working in the Crysis engine so I am still learning its tricks :) Still adding some small frequency details like signs and what not. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
26,418 for a low poly vehicle like this is very high, but it also depends on the engine. This is more like a high poly count to me, with additional details being done in ZBrush or something. I would think you'd want it around 5-6 k for a game, especially if it were multiplayer.
Wow! after seeing the past few pages I was debating if I should post my work. the first scene is a picture of a Cry Engine 3 map I am working on, and the second and third pictures are of characters I am working on (I posted one earlier in this thread)
This is my 2nd environment. Modeled in 3ds max, textured in Mudbox, Photoshop and imported in Unity3d game engine. I just wanted to show you the pipeline i use for games. Watch and Enjoy ! Crits and comments are welcome. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAUFt6SPP3Y&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
I have some plans for the D9 scene but after i complete my killzone kart :P but yeah keep working on it buddy looks real nice, i would search online for tutorials on how to get those effects working on the model. Is that a 3ds max shot or in a game engine?
