In 2.79 I used the same workaround with the data transfer modifier at the end. I tried the new 2.8 Bevel modifier with the Harden Normal option on and it does survive the triangulation, but all bevel edges get marked as sharp for some reason.
Would anyone have a modifier addon for UV Transforms and Geo transforms (Basic ones move rotate scale etc..) ? Also looking for a modifier to do some non uniform subdivision. Cant wait for Houdini Engine to be made for Blender :)
Ofc there is. We have a few addons that do this for you. What dcc did you use before blender? If 3ds Max you can try "modifier list" addon https://blenderartists.org/t/modifier-list-1-5-1/1147752 it tries to mimic Max modifier stack "look and feel" and it has nice automated lattice setup. If you don't want to change the…
Whenever "Everything Nodes" is in Blender, it'd be still nice to have current modifiers, but nodes happening under the hood when added for the modifier stack. Then the user could investigate the node system elsewhere, or wherever this system is going to be present, and tweak from there.
Found a few minutes time finally bash this together. As described before, source object has an edge split modifier active and is set to smooth shading. Of course the object in the example wouldn't need that and could be used with flat shading and without the modifier.
Just wanted to ask you guys if Blender has a similar modifier to 3DS Max's Chamfer modifier? I tend to use that in conjunction with smoothing groups in order to produce my high poly variants of my low poly meshes. I know Blender doesn't use smoothing groups but does it have something similar to the chamfer modifier which…
You mean sharp edges, right? If so, indeed I have them. I was under the impression the edges would be turned to Soft automatically once a Subd modifier is applied on top. I suppose I was wrong to think so. If I wanted to preserve my modifiers while I work and see a smooth subdivided mesh, should I then apply a modifier on…
