Not sure if I understand all of your issues correctly. - bevel vertex: As lorenzo wrote and the modifier can be set to vertex as well. Or is there is problem with the result you are getting? - Contextual hotkey + Selection type: Ctrl-Tab in Edit mode - "true" local transformation (what does that mean actually?): From your…
Pior - you may want to try Mira tools curve stretch. It works on multiple parallel edge loops at once. So you can interpolate with it and smooth the topology.
@"Michael Knubben" / MightyPea The Zaloopok script is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! :) @stilobique No what I was talking about is a bit different. Basically, after doing a checker deselect to an edge ring, I want to be able to expand the edge selection a certain amount to create a series of partial loops, like…
Yes, having loop normals (split normals) preview is scheduled, currently wip in branch, codemanx just made a windows build of it: http://www.graphicall.org/925 Many thanks to him! :D
@Fuiosg : Another way to get what you want would be to start by selecting the whole series of parallel edges then run "Checker Deselect". And then select loops from there. http://i.imgur.com/F6B53KC.gifv
"Support loops" is terminology, so it might mean different things to different people. In the context of the Subdivision Surface modifier -- in Catmull-Clark mode, engineered by Pixar -- the position of an original vertex (one of the vertices of the mesh before it is sent to the modifier) becomes a weighted average of the…
I have been working for a while now on an upcomming tool called Pin & Relax for TexTools which is started to mature recently to something rather usable. It unfolds and Pins selected edge loops into straight lines and relaxes the rest of the UV island. Similar to Headus UV layout with its edge constraints. It does not…
Looks like the "smooth" fucntion of the loop cut tool : Oddly it doens't save the smooth preset like the other tools but I guess with some python maagic we can make it smarter !
