Hey! forum thread gods - i encountered a similar problem to that of MM's : i posess maya 7 (and 8.5) when i try to export using the stooge script it crashes maya 7 everytime (it does creates a .mesh file though at 0kb size which is useless and crashes the engine)...... plus..... when I try importing a straight .obj file i…
@mikezoo: If you got Maya 7, 8, or 9 there's an exporter included in the \Marmoset Toolbag\toolbag\exporter\ directory. Also check out this post from earlier in the thread.
Hey cool mesh, try importing your obj into max/maya and checking the normals, could be something could be wrong, normals facing hte wrong direction or something.
Yeah separate mesh, like i wrote in the tutorial, its pretty much voodoo magic to get it to work right. Are you using obj from maya or the stooge exporter?
Yeah really there is no predictable way to do this. Maybe someone with enough smarts could manually edit the obj. I only know how to do it in maya, so good luck.
might be a similar clipping issue that you can also get in your native max and/or maya software? Eq would have to confirm that.... bump! oh, and how is this thread still not stickied?
Is there a compiled version for maya 2010? If someone already ask for it can you link me to the link. It's kinda hard to read 50 pages straight. I got up to page 20. Thank you.
Seems cool. Thanks for this. So if I got this right, for someone who already has Maya/Max this would be a complementary app to create real-time materials and game-true renders to present their work?
Maya plugin wont work for 64bit no, you need to make sure you have a normal map loaded if you're using PhongEnviro instead of Simple, Simple is the only material type that will work with just a diffuse texture.
