how are you making it anyway? are you making a texture, then making a plane, and extruding out the rock pieces so they all fit the texture? or the other way round?
Paroxum: Looking good, although i would try to blend the sand more into the rocks were they meet. About the textures, try forcing LODBias to -1 under the texture viewer.
Wow Neox, I really dig the shapes and palette of this. The rocks ooze warmth and chunkiness :) Can't wait to see more environments from Airborn, it's really looking quite special.
Having fun with my new 12wx cintiq :D Gotta say that this thing rocks. Oh yeah, that's a quick sculpt of a paperclay model of Wolverine made by the awesome Shiflett Bro's.
its all max so far, manuel (katzeimsack) developed the tilesystem for the main island, so i have 1 tileable rock texture with grass on the bottom, one with gras from the top, one tileable grass textures, 1 tileable rocks texture without grass and a tileable way texture that i can use. i started with one left/right tileable…
Does UE3 let you use masks for blending between ground textures? If so, you might want to get a nice mask on there so it looks like the sand is between all the rocks and stuff.
ok beautyshot of my stupid rocks, because noone seems to want to talk about it ':( edit: your pipe is so awesome, now try parallay mapping it inward like the bullet intersitions in fear
that's very nice zenarion. The surface quality is perfect for some rock/moss texturing. You could define the forms a bit more, since you will lose some detail after normal mapping and smoothing.
Transition between Grass and rock textures on the little cliffs is a bit harsh. This is my only crit for now :D Can't wait to see the map when it'll be bigger; I really like this alpine tileset ;)
