I'm trying to use the xnormal dilation photoshop plugin. Never used it but I'm using it now on a projection baked to uv's in maya but it's not doing anything. No dilation is happening and no errors.... Any ideas?
At the risk of looking stupid, I'm getting this error: "Error loading the models: The mesh Default has vertex UV's but no vertex indicies! Please sure if you fill the mesh->UV's you fill the mesh->UVIndices" I have no idea what this means. 'Fill' the mesh?? I can only assume the 'mesh default' is referring to my low poly…
"Use exported normals" For me has always worked. It may be another issue, like having much to harsh angles in your mesh and just general smoothing errors. Post some screenshots.
Uploaded the 3.15.2: - Added an option to paint the UV seams in the "render wireframe and ray fails" map type. - Solved some bugs ( incorrect mesh clear, 1/1 diagnostics error, etc )
I too am wondering what is going on with the xnormal website. The first link above still gives me a 404 error and the second link says "website coming soon." What gives?
Thank you so much for making this! Beats the crap out of Melody. On the art end is Daz's method the best thing we can be doing to get the least possible number of ray errors?
I'm trying to install the 64 version on my new comp with a core duo, but I get an error message saying "An error occurred attempting to install xNormal v3.9.4 Beta 1 (64-bits x64)." Details say: "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor." I checked online to make sure…
I've been getting a lot of virtual memory errors when trying to bake normals, occlusion and diffuse while setting the pixel dilation higher. The high poly is only about 300k, and my maps are 2048. I have 2GB of RAM (which is the max) and a 3GB page file. But I get errors when trying to use a higher dilation. First of all,…
I updated Max to 2015 and then updated xNormal accordingly from .08 to .10 but now I'm getting these errors: I didn't get these using 2014 and I've checked the Mesh to make sure it's nothing with that. Any ideas?
i tried to get back to xnormal after a after a long break and i'm encountering an error. when i try to generate maps xnormal reads the hipoly file, starts calculating geometry and then "pls, set any hi poly mesh visible" message pops up every time. there's only one hi poly mesh and it is set to visible. i googled that…
