BaddCog - Keep size/sides ratio in mind. Right now your wheels and head light both are 8 sided, though the lamp is much smaller. MightyPea - considering we're on polycount, specifically in the lowpoly thread, the educated guess would be triangles. Which turned out to be incorrect.
Hi, I really like this thread and have been looking to contribute for a while. I actually went through all pages and really love the stuff here. Especially the 8/16 bit pieces. Anyway, here's my contribution. 722 tri's Any positive or negative feedback is appreciated.
Anytime something uses more than 100 triangles and a 32² it's no longer lowpoly. And if it's a crate, you're only allowed to use 8 triangles. There. NellyB - what's more, by having a sharper point it will also make the curved sides of the shovel feel more rounded A because they are and B because of the shape contrast.
Thanks for the feedback, it's so simple yet I've obviously overlooked it. I was unsure at first how to approach a more cartoon style and tried to keep it as two tone as possible. I was also being over cautious on the colour count but from what I've seen I may as well just use 8-bit textures, really couldn't get it to…
renderhjs: it get´s more and moe stunning every time you post something I need an ai-scripting port, and animated mesh support, an ui support and controlls setup + some minor other stuff aaaaaaaand i´m doing some secret-of-mana webgame :D .. I´m watching you 8)
Most of my work is low poly and I've been unemployed since graduation for 8 months now. So you're probably better off working in a few well crafted high poly assets like Optinium suggested. (Nothing I've made has looked good though, so I've "stuck to my guns" so to speak).

I like that wierd dood bird Edit: Changed images to links since they were breaking formatting and don't really belong in this thread anyway.
try to keep only quads (easier to handle) and tris (where it makes sense) also if you start out with a sphere its better to use one with just 8 segments - and turn it just like you did - but it is just a starting point. Often one needs to cut and push vertecies anyway and alot till the shape looks good.
hospital is looking pretty good. like that plane too Harry. more work on the tank. it's comin along but taking longer than I thought. tweaked the mesh quite a bit for shape. added a few polys, adjust uv's a bit, more tex work. 340 polys, 256 8 bit tex. 680 tris when biled.
@1stAnd10 : Looks like you are counting quads, not tris. 1000 tris is not enough to model a character with full five-fingered hands and 8-sided limbs with a fair amount of gridding on them. More likely, you'd end up with 6-sided limbs and the middle finger, ring finger and pinky finger merged into a single box with only…
