Hey fellow gamers! Have been playing CS-GO for not that long now and I saw the skin entry contest which I am participating in from on now. Been graphic designing for years so let's see what I come up with! Stay clipped for updates. Going to watch ''A Space Odyssey (2001)'' now to obtain some inspiration. Much love
@"Eric Chadwick" Hello, I made my WIP thread in Counter-Strike: GO forum (link to my post) but then I noticed there is whole forum especially for this competition. I would like to ask if you could be so kind and move the thread from Counter-Strike: GO to CS:GO Weapon Finish Contest as I believe this is where it belongs…
It says; The winners will be announced the week after the contest concludes. The Top 2 finishes will be included in a CS:GO weapon case that will come out at a later date. As with other weapon finishes included in a weapon's case, the winners will receive a share of the proceeds generated. So what I think they are saying…
No, unfortunately. :( The purpose of the WIPs is to solicit periodic feedback but perhaps more importantly to show your creative process. If you post your process images after you have finished your skin, that defeats both purposes. At that point the images could be faked, not really showing your actual working process.…
Ehhh, Valve's a bit of a wild-card when it comes to picking submissions when it comes to all of their games. In both the TF2 and Dota 2 polycount contests, they did pick submissions that didn't win at later dates, afterall. But CS:GO is such a feverishly competitive climate, you definitely have a point that they'd be…
Rules say "You must create and maintain a Work-In-Progress (WIP) thread at Polycount for your entry in the CS:GO forum." It is up to Valve how they wish to define this, since they are judging the contest. At Polycount we usually define a WIP thread as being periodically updated with screenshots and text, from the start of…
If your entry works via direct link, then you're most likely good to go. Valve will know about the outage and will take that into account. I know Polycount works this way for contests. If you submit before the deadline I'm sure they'll rely on that timestamp as your proof of timely entry. Of course, you'll still need to…
There are so many people doing this, posting wips after they have finished their guns, did valve set the rules or did polycount set them? Who will be applying these rules to the contest? Since you are saying polycount will not be judging any of them I am wondering if Valve will really be following the rules that much while…
You have to make a wip thread on polycount aswell, then you post your polycount wip thread link into the description of your workshop submission. Make your thread here : http://polycount.com/categories/cs%3Ago-weapon-finish-contest There are 5 weapons to chose from to make skins for in total. After the deadline valve will…
Valve's artists taking their time to vote is fine with me... I had to wait a couple days for the tax info to be approved, and then I was in the middle of an apartment move, so I hadn't been back online until the 4th, when I hit "accept" on the percentage split. Nice to see the unique views jump up from "2" to a thousand or…
