Just want to clarify before it runs off the track. I am not bu-huing about not having items accepted. People like what people like. What I was (am) frustrated about are views in general - how to get them. The problem I have had was a high approval rate, but a few negatives being enough to sink them, and that comes around…
New participant in the Workshop here! I feel hero colours shouldn't vary too drastically, so far AM with black hair (Burning's set) and white hair (Kunkka's set) are fine for me as his original purples are still dominant. Something like the old Navi AM, white and red clothes, is totally out. It'd be great to hear feedback…
Whoses to say they can't? If they choose to sacrifice a portion of their revenue share to hit a broader auidence, then why restrict it? It's their choice. Better yet, if that organization creates their own marketing videos for the cosmetic, in reguards to Dota2VO and even DotaCinema, then how are they doing anything wrong?…
There are 2 points that concerns me alot. 1. The division between Pro Sets <-> Independent Stuff. I think it's really cool the idea make stuff for pro teams, but it needs to be separated from the indepent stuff. 2. Workshop page needs to be more intuitive or make the visitors to check more stuff then look at the first…
"Paying" for votes creates the illusion that votes alone will get the item in game. I'm wondering if any of those guys go around to less than stellar artists and do this and promise the item to get in game? Or if they just stick to the Vlads or Anuxis(not implicating either of them, just using them as examples of artists…
Just wanted to chime in and say that I contacted Robin about this stuff, as well as charity info, and apparently they are reading the thread so hopefully this does go somewhere. As to some suggestions, as everyone has said, more communication from Valve would be great. Especially when it comes down to WHEN/WHY/HOW an item…
Cool yeah, just saw it in the store, along with the BH set :) Great stuff ! Goes to show that even tho the system does need some polishing, some aspects of it really work well. Also, Chemical : maybe I phrased it poorly ? I am just saying that from an artist's perspective (on both sides : the Valve art team, and the…
I don't think there's anything wrong with the voting system as it is, and I for one, would hate to tie more into it - particularly since there's a danger of it not really being about the items, but a lot of other interests. The Sony Workshop has a pretty good system where the devs actually communicate with the creators. Of…
I've got to say that I had no idea that this sort of thing was going on. It's kind of depressing enough seeing some great artwork get lost in the Workshop sometimes anyway, so to know there's any kind of vote "rigging" going on is a bit dis-heartening to hear. Hopefully high quality art work and dedication still wins…
Just saw this in another thread: "Workshop is definitely going in bad direction. People offering 1000 guaranteed votes in exchange of % share. Valve should definitely change the voting mechanics... Or soon there will not be much more % left for artists itself..." It is true that for a % of the item sales someone gives you…
