Figured I'd start with something completely new with my spankin fresh blender. I've never done anything organic before so I made a mistake here. Maybe I could get hint. If you look at my half head here you can see that it isn't flat on the z axis. How do I make it?
Great stuff all as usual ! Brenly: Nice!! Here is something I've been creating lately. I poly-painted this fully in ZBrush using only the standard brush. Currently flat lit, no shader. Next level is to add scratches and some wear to the weapon, before I create the lowpoly. Thanks to Firstkeeper who created the great…
I'm liking the diffuse map, it's quite vivid, and scratches like I imagine a space marine would be. The specular map feels really flat. I also feel that you can use the emissive map to create a cool fall off effect on the light source coming from the eyes. It would feel way more grim dark.
simonlindwall That is pretty cool! though you should move the filter on the promask to the other side. It is never on the right side unless you are a left handed shooter as it would interfere with aiming. Also his vest seems pretty thin and flat, as if its not holding any kevlar padding or strike plates. and m4 ammo…
The result looks sweet! So did you use the displaced geometry via crazybump as the basis for your sculpt? Or were you combining them together for large scale displacement plus small scale details? Looking beautiful :) one tiny crit, it looks like the cheeks should be fuller/higher, especially given the smile. they look a…
more work on this guy.. some lighting, scaled up and re-worked my texture.. almost done.. gonna find some photo textures to play w/ them a bit for this guy too.. didn't mention before, but this model is based after one of Ben Mauro's drawings.. Edit: Lighting is baked in to the textures.. model is currently being viewed in…
thanks ery boddeh! much appreciated! YBourykina- i lovveeeee that model you just finished. i would love to see some close ups of the bust. did you model underneath the hood? would also love to see them texture flats :D dont start modelin yet hahahaha. way more females and males comin soon XD
haz: face is coming along nice! the lips and eyes are looking nice, i might broaden the tip of the nose just a little, wont really matter if you are planning on having your MF at game res with those kinds of camera distances because it will be so small, but it looks a bit too small in the front view atm, almost like a flat…
A lot of cool stuff! Fred's keyshot render at the top of the page is awesome! I feel so outclassed, but that is a good thing I think. Found some time to make some progress on my scene. Also, I made this handy material guide for Ddo. You guys can download and use it as you please. It certainly makes it easy when doing quick…
I agree. It is meh. Specularity. Its completely flat right now. How about you Low poly this guy to bake some of this stuff down? Your grundge is in odd places. Like, its behind the Axe yet not on the gears at the bottom? What's up with the mirror on those cylindrical bottles? Your lighting is flatening everything out oddly…
