Charlton AR. Rendered in Blender's Cycles engine which is absurdly easy to use. I'm not great at hard surface stuff, so I'm looking to improve that. This guy will get his own thread once I get onto the bakes.
Tried making a tree using the set up that it's done in Airborn. Sadly Blender still can't seem to edit normals, but it seems to work fine with flat shading. Will probably be better in a game engine with a shader that I can adjust the alpha falloff with too.
I will have to do a test bake to see about my edges. They seem to be coming out much sharper in my renders than what they look like in maya viewport. I will be keeping an eye on it for sure though. As for the engine I am using UDK for it.
hey folks, just a quick update, this time just a quick run test for the Unreal Engine for my small level. Time sure flies by- messing around with UDK- totally missed out on the great day outside, I guess I'll settle with the UDK sunset- ;]
Hey Ged, thanks-- yup I am using gamma correction ( auto ) on renderer and using advance camera exposure in Mental Ray. Yes- I will eventually export it on both engines Unreal or Cryengine- for now, I'm just building up assets for it as much as I can.
HI! wanted to share the work in progress for our game, This is just a paintover of how its going to look ingame as soon as we are done implementing lighting and postprocessing in the engine =D for more info and pics head over too http://www.indiedb.com/games/acaratus or http://www.acaratus.com
thanks, the rain drops are decimated geo. i tried planes with 6 faces @ 60º interval but for close ups and bigger still renders it sort of falls apart. since it is only for decoration i kept it as geo. if there was realtime rain it would be just blurred streaks in most engines.
[QUOTE=Farfarer;1758751 think thats way more complicated than just adding 2 smaller ones, its not that they are expensive or anything. i'll just have to carve a bigger whole out of the propeller base and there is enough space for this :) Also i don't want to stuff the exhaust too much, i am only going to do one printable…
@geck: loving it! I'm working on a soviet KM-1 ejection seat. It will be part of a small scene to be rendered in cry engine, once their pbr update is out. Scene will be a cockpit of a jet with crazy little details everywhere :). Thats the current state of the high poly for the seat (in Marmoset Toolbag 2):
Going to try and make an environment. I've never done anything like this before so I'm keeping it really simple and graphical. My brother is working on a game engine so we're going to use the stuff I make for somewhat of a tech demo! Really inspired by this http://www.racer445.com/misc.html
