Just general chat questions, Is there a reason why they're not really adding much in the store recently? Or is it just because it's the season and they want people to focus on tournaments etc...? Could just be me, but the workshop seems a bit quiet right now.
Maybe because of textures getting pixilated and stretched etc, mysteriously in the dota test client workshop. I notice the big difference when uploading in the main and the test. I really don't know why the Main workshop has crispier texture.
Hey guys, Was wondering if those who have already been successful with getting your submissions selected (way to go!) what forms Valve requires you to submit? Do they take a long time to retrieve (from the government, etc)? Thanks
Sooooo, I decided since they released PA in the proper submit page I might as well see what my item looks like on her with all the masks etc. this is what happened... any ideas how I might fix this???
@AS2IA, Look at the skirt, then look back at the wings. Color matching would help a lot. The skirt also has some sculpted trim, not just a line painted around it. The trim frames it, adds some design, etc.. To me that's what the wings need.
Usually, from my experience, people tend to just do a set for who they want to. Like, you get an idea for a cool set, and it just evolves from there. Sometimes people get requested a set from different organizations/pro players etc.
How do we include jigglebones in our models now that we don't have access to the .qc? I'm thinking I'll rig the bones to "jiggle01" etc and then leave a note in the developer notes on the item to let valve know it's supposed to be jiggleboned. Is there any other way?
I made about 5 good looking models in blender but I stall on textures in Photoshop. Are there any resources on how to setup your layers, mask, explain fresnel, etc. that Valve detailed? I read all their technical jargon, have researched, and request assistance! :P
I have also been working on this set for Lich over the last week or so, i have this mostly sculpted now but would really appreciate some feedback before i commit to a lowpoly/bakes etc :). Max Viewport grabs of the pre sculpt base mesh
Wait, how do you make sure your item is the correct scale when you import? I tried to scale my item to an existing character model and exported it, but when I import it I think it's about 2 microns big and isn't animating with the character, etc.
