I would suggest going to school for 3D modeling if this is what you really want, but In my experience no one is "born with the gift" or "naturally talented" its all just practice practice practice
This is why I love this site though. On the one hand you have 2,000 words from an industry insider on company practices. On the other hand you have some nobody posting "Myeh! Unionons are woke!"
Go find books by Andrew Loomis, Burne Hogarth, Glenn Vilppu (Whom you already know about) or George Bridgman and practice, practice, practice. Some of the books can be incredibly cheap, and others not so much.
