Hi Your work is very cool! But I think there is a problem with your lighting. In your reference, every light has is importance to make the scene realistic and logic. And in your scene, we can see big neon, but they don’t project any light, or the area of light are too small for the biggest neons
Nice attention to detail! I really do hope go go as far as to make a game ready scene with it. I've always wanted to do something similar myself and make a scene of inside the mountain base and in a jungle and have them back to back. The gate it's self was always a bit daunting though.
The cinema scene is probably not doing you any favors. It actually looks kinda half done. Just some walls and a floor in empty space with totally even lighting. There are major differences in texel density between the chairs and other things in the scene, and the chair/carpet textures are more or less colored noise.
Thanks Adam, Seth, Rogue for making Verold happen in Polycount! You'll see a "3D" icon in the Polycount editor that you can use to embed Verold 3D scenes directly in your posts. Here's the result (thanks to Ben Day for this AWESOME scene inspired by Archvile in Doom): [VEROLD]51f41af3a9107602000003cb[/VEROLD]
Good start sipher. The door looks a bit basic, but i think it matches the style of your reference. I think once you it in the scene with lighting and some shadows it will look fine. What engine are you going to be using for your scene? Have you started roughing out the buildings yet?
I like this scene but I think maybe a lighter text for the sign would be better, easier to see. Also, I'm pretty sure the floor planks are wayyy too big - look at how big they are in comparison with the beds haha, it makes the scene seem really, really tiny. Look at this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Your environment/scene is too lumpy. Make the scene huge, space things apart and don't bring the terrain up too much, you'll have a more successful/convincing desert. Less is more, work on the horizon, and skydome more than you are planning, it's where it'll pay off the most.
@Ruz::Unfortunately there's no way to do any fixes to the subway scene, it was for a viz company I worked for that no longer exists. They shut down with no warning and I was only allowed to take some images, no max files. The other scenes can be helped, so I'll take a second look at the lighting. Thanks for the comments.
Finished! I am not in love with the final scene, still need a lot of practice with realistic styles, but overall am pretty happy. The horse didn't really work in the scene so he only made it into one image. I am pretty happy with the tiling textures, learned a lot for the next project.
He would be better of claiming this as a Matte painting . I was watching the behind the scenes for Episode 3 ,and one of the matte painters who was showing off a digital matte painting said it tooks 3-4 months to create the panoramic scene .It did not have anywhere near the detail that train station has .
