named layers are weak. named, hyper-complex layer sets are awesome. Diffuse->Metal->Rust->Scratch->patina->Base. Masks on every one. This way I can adjust anything and copy/paste layers as needed. Plus it means each layer inside each set is usually fairly self evident :) -

Even with TV resolutions and not great image quality allowed for, the density of geometry in say the ear, is very apparent and way beyond anything currently around. The diffuse texture is photographic in source. Of that Im positive. I think the most impressive thing happening here is lighting. Whargoul, where are you?!… -

Now it looks like mossy concrete? I think you need to work up the specular highlights or even go one further and leave the diffuse map as it is and make a spec map to make it shiney underneath the scratches and dirt. The texture is a big improvement though I'm not too sure about the green. -caseyjones -

Screen space reflections and AO are not possible in Viewer, but as Andrew mentions these can be set up in Toolbag 4's viewport. There's also a sort-of screen space GI technique called Local Diffuse. Of course with ray tracing enabled, you get real GI, reflections, and shadowing from sky lighting. -

Nice to see you working on something new Seth. Dude, you really like to make those elongated torsos lol! Other than that, I think it's looking pretty good. Still could use more variation in the diffuse, but i'm sure you're not done texturing. Keep going man. -

Thank you all for comments :) @Next these do have unique texture sheets for AO , wearmaps and dirtmaps, but yes we are using decal sheets to add parallax and "diffuse" decals @AlefinWariner yes same as ships, its bevelled and using parallax decals @Mehran Khan it depends, but usually a couple of weeks -

How exactly would i flip the green channel? In my 3d program the map appears perfectly seamless without even touching the channels. Just in MM its weird, almost like it isnt lit and like you said it looks like its the normal map texture on diffuse. Not in Marmoset: -

Most of the art-assets tend to fall in the lower mark area of things, I have seen a couple of tile-set pieces with textures that equate to "Take Diffuse and Generate Spec, Normal, etc from CrazyBump", going for a pretty penny. Not exactly going to sell, when compared to saaaay, a Vertex Painter. -

Sorry for the late reply im so busy and yes its that line which goes all around to the head here is the texture diffuse map Edge padding ... i think that`s it right ? but edge padding and Ddo arent good friends right ? sorry i`m new to these stuff obviously -

Everything was done in zbrush. I actually have two versions of the handle one is much more rugged and looks like it was carved from wood. I plan on using it for the diffuse. I can also see what you are saying about the wood looking like clay, thanks for the feedback. :D
