Welcome to the party :D . About the set ,maybe a bit to mechanical for my taste ,knowing that Axe is a brute. The texture on the head item and the shoulder i think could've been a bit more detailed, because compared with the weapon they looks flat.
Finally got to work on this again. :) Next step will be getting some hard-surface motorcycle body forms down. It's going to be a modified 'sports' vehicle with an akira bike feel. Stickers on the body and attached weapons are attached in a DIY rebel style.
Yes, noticed the same thing about the part around the ejection port, its does look too flat too. and yes, I should probably give a higher polycount budget for weapons like this. thanks again for the tips! :D
Hey man, looks realy cool but i have some crits, some joints are very thin, check picture, and maybe the entire leg is very thin, add some bulkiness to it maybe. Bigger shapes to compensate the big weapons.
Thank you for the feedback! I'll definitely include the weapons in the next set, that makes a lot of sense now that I think about it - since they are a big part of her silhouette too! I love the idea of the witch hat on her back :)
Removing 1 edge loop make it look the same, removing 2 edge loop change the curve but it still read nice as a sword, none of that make it look like crap or ruin the weapon , after that it's just a matter of limitation and preference.
Neat sword. Takes makes back to my first week learning 3D in a classroom. We had to make a handful of gladiator weapons. It turned out awful! Did the post I made in your last thread clarify anything?
Polar opposite for me I don't care about the gameplay of Mass effect, I care about the story and the nice hard sci fi visuals(Doesn't mean that good gameplay doesn't help, the weapon variation in ME3 was great!)
I would do the following: - a couple weapons...maybe one pistol and a larger firearm - a vehicle - a couple complex props, be creative - do a few tiling textures that can be presented well like this(a texture by a buddy of mine, Josh Lynch):
Never liked the additions they did in the xbox/ps2 era. Multiple fighting styles and weapons and the rpg stuff all added to making the game feel bloated and overly complex. I'll be happy with something closer to mk2 than mk deception.
