I'm liking it so far just for the reduction of horrible grinding noises from the disc drive. Loading times don't seem to be greatly improved in Fallout 3, but at least I can hear it now without turning the volume up to earbleeding levels. EDIT: Bah. Why can't I link my avatar?
Starting off with some old pieces I'm retiring from my Artstation. It would be nice to keep track of them here and look back on them occasionally to see my progress. Here's the first piece I ever posted to Artstation. It was a prop made for the first ever DiNusty Empire challenge. The concept art was originally made for…
Hi all, I modeled this to get to grips with Substance Painter - originally based on this concept. I wanted to take it in a slightly more Fallout direction and eventually do a very small diorama to give the gun a bit of context. It's just not quite doing it for me as is though, so I'd really be grateful for any C&C. Thanks…

I have done this on Skyrim and fallout, these games and many other highly moddable ones usually make the process of model extraction rather trivial. I have done it by the same reasons as you, sometimes its nice to look at others work and you learn alot, you also may notice some mistakes they made lol
Head Shot Models - I tried to copy the way Fallout 3 did it really with the segmented "pieces". Theres clearly no FX shown here, and its posed in a way to show everything in one shot, but I'll have a video up soon of the effect, including blood and physics. Neck stump is by somebody else, just FYI:
Is Activision unfair to third parties? They recently have a rep for being evil but when you look into it, every publisher is evil in their own special way. Look at Bethesda vs. Interplay with the Fallout MMO, that is some low down dirty pool but I'm not going to write off Bethesda/Zenimax as a big evil I'd never deal with.
Take a page from Fallout. Modern post apocalyptic would fit in similar theme. Other ideas could be run-down ghetto basketball court, junkyard security office (exterior), something similar to Stalker environments or resembling a resistance headquarters in half-life2. All are about the same thing as far as materials and…
I wanted to make some modular enviroment that was large, have heavy use of modules and was made with a master material. Still adding models and editing textures. I have taken inspiration from Rage, fallout and Tor fricks Scifi Slum http://polycount.com/discussion/84867/scifi-slum-in-udk#latest
I know iv pretty much given up on comparing older games i played when i was young to newer games, theres no way the original Doom or fallouts will ever compare to their new counter parts simply because of all the nostalgic weight that was built up with a kids imagination. Because of this i
