Something that wasn't particularly memorable (otherwise, I'd remember it). Steed and I brainstormed most of the character names, but it must have been something that neither of us felt strongly enough about to argue for it. Bitterman, the skin used on the alternate FFA skin for the model was more than loosely based on id…
A new reality series on SyFy Channel. Starts next wednesday, january 26th. http://video.syfy.com/shows/face_off It's basically similar to the Food Network Challenge series, but for aspiring hollywood make-up effects artists. It looks pretty neat :) Now, where's NeoGod?
On this one mesh alone, then we'll need to have multiple artists be able to do the same thing over and over again for multiple skins and multiple ships. Faffing around with 3DO and only being able to see one map at a time is really not a good method unfortunately. It would be fine if I was doing a portfolio or student…

I'm a max user and I would make that shape by simply creating a hedra and adjusting the parameters, shapes like these are built right in max. Then I would adjust the shape by using FFD Modifiers or lattice I believe it is for maya user's. example image from google of one hedra -…
Dont think it as bad as people make it out to be to do by via classic polygon modelling. Precision is not a big deal in stuff as jam packed with detail as baroque furniture. If you know your way around bend and ffd modifiers in max you can kit bash your way along fairly quickly as a lot of ornamental stuff is repeated…
Yeah, I was thinking I could apply the texture to a plane in 3ds max and apply a ffd box; then render to texture it at a higher resolution than the texture itself. But this is sort of a lot of work, and you might loose some texture quality. [Edit] Its good to know I am not missing out on anything there though, thank again…
