thanks for the quick reply. isnt dynamesh supposed to fulfill that? and if thats the case why does it distort the areas aboe? or is it just better practice to do all the high-res stuff in Maya? (ie. add more horizontal/vertical edge loops in the pillars)
Thanks for all the comments guys. @imb3nt and Pussik you guys are 100% right. This could be cut down a lot if it were going in game but since it was just a demo piece i really wasnt worried about the tri-count, it was just some practice.
Thank you for the feedback! It is much appreciated  :poly121: The assets are supposed to be metal. My texturing skills aren't great at the moment (but with practice they will improve!) and I found it quite hard to get the metallic assets to look right when I was texturing them.
I Think I definitely need practice and I will continue to work at improving, and yes the folds would give it more believable look as well sorting the anatomy, im gonna give it a go and improve the model thanks a lot for the comments, big help.
The shape looks fine. It just needs to have the dota 2 style. Go to theses links, they tell you everything you need to know. After that, it's just practice. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123800 http://www.dota2.com/workshop/
Looks great dude. the only things I could maybe possibly point out is that the tree part of it looks a tad shiny, and yeah, the UV's, but I dunno. Good practice/portfolio piece anyhow. hope you don't get in trouble for posting this.
Along with what @Hito is saying, it won't always be animators that see your reel first. Sometimes it's recruiters who aren't as familiar with animation, but are more impressed with things that look nice. It's good practice and it shows you're willing to go an extra step to impress.
I think I will do this in practice mode, and slow the speed too 50% or more lol. I never tried to play real guitar before, so somthing tells me I'm going to be looking down at it and back up the screen alot.
Well I guess I also have a bias sympathy because when I finish uni this Summer I will practically be in the same boat as them unless I can relocate to a job before my final loan runs out :poly122:
Ok, after trying both Tapose and Paper, Tapose wins hands down in terms of features - but it's slow. On my first generation iPad it's practically unusable. Paper runs really well, but it's just a limited sketching app, albeit presented really well.
