Heheh. Unfortunately I believe that would be against the contest rules as they want the entries to only be available in the curated path. Otherwise it would defeat the purpose of asking players to pay for them ;)
Wow. I just watched the trailer and was it good. I'm super curious as to how this will work. Is it in first person? Do you control every action as the player or are they automatically control in-game?
MAG for the 256 players, would have liked being part of the beta. Bayonetta, got to play the demo first to get a FEEL. There will be some games that i haven't thought of yet.
A 1024x1024 should be well enough for this for a game asset, even smaller depending on what kind of view the player would have etc. Is that UV all the model or just certain bits?
Thanks for the feedback, and yes i kinda do since this is a first person asset. The player will hold it up pretty close to their face. The chamfer idea is great, will defenantly try that. Thanks
Super Metroid also goes extremely dark usually outside the play area. It was done to save memory but it also does a good job of guiding the eye and the player through the game.

a lot of it is in the textures and in the shader, tf2 uses a lot pf phong shading for specular and a rimlight on player models and some props that are needed to pop from the background more. also proportions.
