Hey there Walrus, I just wanted to add a small feedback for your site. Along with what everyone already pointed out, I would recommend you change your website's address from just env-art to your name. If companies are to remember you, your name would be a better choice than just env-art. Just my 2 cents. Good luck
Hello everyone, I’m currently developing a narrative-driven sci-fi exploration game set in a mysterious abandoned world. The project focuses on atmosphere, environmental storytelling and monumental alien architecture. I'm looking for a concept artist to create 3–5 key environment concepts for the project's pitch deck.…
dunno, not to offend anyone and i do believe that you guys are very capable and all but so far i've seen few dedicated env people who can do decent characters as well. the other way around seems to be the easier route apart from a lack of lighting-practice and specific env optimization techniques. just my experience so…
Hi all, I know this is a rather noobish question but does anyone know of any cheap 3d design programs out there that I can use to practice with? My student license for 3ds MAX '09 ends in just a few days and I desperately need to find something decent to work on. $3,500+ is just too much money to spend on a year's license,…
A spontaneous black hole has appeared not far from the kingdom's home planet and has started to rip apart and spagettify the world around the kingdom. With light being sucked in by the black hole I'd imagine it would red shift a bit and you'd see the sky gradient changed. Around the black hole I want to put a ring of…
Yea the revised site looked MUCH better. I think you can keep the first site for applying to more web design based jobs but use the second one for 3d gigs. Your 3D stuff is actually really nice and I would love to see you add more to it if you end up going more towards an env artist role.
I used to play Eve, and come back to it every once and a while but reading about it is more fun than playing it. Unless you love spinning around your ship in station for hours on end waiting for pvp to happen. This BoB thing is pretty amazing and a real focal shift for power blocks of the game. Considered resubbing just to…
hey guys I am working on a 3d side scroller in unreal engine, and I am looking to collaborate with a unreal blueprint programmer, perhaps a concept artist and a environmental artist. I have a basic level one up and running with a character and some background an enemy and I want to go further. my dusty portfolio is on…
I'm a junior 3D artist, and I've found "The ultimate be-all end-all normal mapping thread" by Per128 incredibly useful. Regarding Parallax maps, I've been searching through the forums, and while there is a lot of info here, it's all just scattered fragments. I'm hoping some of the veterans can take a moment and flesh out…
Anyone know of the various ways i could make the ends of the copper wire look frayed, but also look decent at different angles, which one would look best and be most appropriate, poly count wise, for an average game? Im modelling an old WW2 radio and to give it some interest i'd like to make it quite detailed as its…
