another thing i just noticed and im not sure what its like on the real thing but i think one of the wing things on the side might be facing the wrong way. and the damage along the edge should be rusted if u look at the ref pic where its damaged its all rust not really shiny metal underneath
eh, a damage pass may not be needed, but it wouldn't hurt none either. the rest of the damage can be done in texture if ya wanted though. Nice hi res model! Decent tuts for texturing http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/photoshop/how-to-hand-paint-convincing-metal-textures/…
I like how your materials are looking right now. As for the damage you have on it, having the damage just on the edges of the plates doesn't really make sense. It should be running across the whole panels I think. Try and make it look more intentional and think about why the scratches are where they are. Keep up the good…
Hi everyone I've added the base mesh of the clothing so far. I have also done the high poly sculpt for the gas mask, i wanted it to be a combination between a normal gas mask and the V for Vendetta mask. Still yet to add damage as i will do all the damage at once at the end, is this a good plan?
Nice progress, I would make the damage on the pistol grip a bit more subtle. You should make the slide a bit interesting as well it could use more less uniform damage. The weapons I'm posting below have similar color schemes as your pistol so I am adding them for reference.
The Corners on the crate are the cleanest in regard to their damage, maybe adding just a little bit of damage to the corners to help match the wear of the rest of the crate could help from making it look so painted. I do like where this is going and i think you have a nice model on your hands. Keep up the good work.
I'm trying to get the best normal maps for this building that is suppose to look like its damaged, I have the base mesh I used for sculpting and Iv'e tried using that and I get bad results, I need to create a low poly but keep the flow around the damaged areas and more extruded places..
I'm pretty sure LMP meant that everything looks brand new and there is no battle damage, dirt, or grime. They're looking good so far. Excited to see more. I would definitely do some damage to the pristine weapons. Make 'em look like they've been through some hard times. ;)
so, damage is added and sorta working (you turn invisible when you die - reconnect fixes it). guess it's time to decide on resetting the world to experience the fancy wonders of survival or continue playing on the current map. jumping off the tree at spawn cost me half my hearts :( but weee, damage!! :D yay
I've made the details of those wood panels at the bottom at the wall in zbrush, while I was in there I just quickly sculpted those raised parts. I also have a damaged version, the damages were also sculpted in zbrush. Some other angles: Ignore those edges that don't match, It has been solved.
