It really isn't "low poly texturing" but more regular painting where a firm foundation in the basics reigns supreme. The second set of links Eric posted is probably the most useful, but really you're asking how do I paint, which there are other boards like conceptart.org that have better info than a poly pushing forum.
just my $ 0,02 I'd STRONGLY suggest buying an intuos 3 + an extra grip pen in case your default one breaks and you can't get it anymore (intuos 3 accessories will be out of stock sooner or later) a) it's cheaper than i4 b) there's no dramatic technology difference between two (there're some driver bugs with intuos 3,…
Images are made by Wojciech Ostrycharz - http://conceptartworld.com/?p=27702 The game was directed by Pawel Selinger - http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,147738/ BTW I've made tons of screenshots from the game, check it: http://level-design.org/referencedb/index.php?/category/25
hey thank you guys :) ged: yeah i like this style also alot more jason: thank you but i have to admit taht the colours have been set before we started texturing, the conceptartists did a great job and michael prededfined some basic rules for every artist to work with, skintones and such things were defined pretty early,…
1) Lack of discplineThe "you get out what you put in" mantra. Unless you're a prodigy you're going to have to work hard at it and that means doing a lot more than just going to class and doing homework projects. You have to put in hours and hours outside of that. 2) "Game art" curriculum is difficult to design without…
If you learn the fundamentals of painting, you basically can paint anything. It's sort of like the difference between memorizing what two numbers add up to versus actually learning how to add two numbers together. If you understand how to paint light, it's fundamentally the same if you're painting a realistic brick texture…
I dunno, I fail to see the real necessity of this. Why would you want to show your work to a few people only instead of posting here where everyone can see and critique? Any critique on the forum is also archived forever being a a huge learning tool for everyone by itself. Why create a tool if we could have a Polycount…
Is is OK to have a thread on conceptart.org to help me out with the initial concept phase, since I'm not a seasoned concept artist? Is it OK to share on LunchCrunch? Or only Polycount?
I have to disagree with those suggesting not buying the wireless version. Swizzle/Wahlgren are right in that the cable doesn't limit you at all, there's really no point in upping to the wireless, an you have to charge it, etc. However... I received an intuos 4 (wired) as a gift and within 3 months of light use (I'm quite…
