This is really really really just what we needed, brilliant move! So I guess when you 'finish' a game, you have the option to buy the full version and than upgrade the realtime shadows and other fancy stuff?
The game looks awesome-sexy-tastic guys !!! and I confirm that I had a blast using the model viewer, it's really a great tool, easy to use and has a way better realtime output than any 3d package around.
If you wanted to go down the realtime shader route, more recent versions of max ship with a texture driven directx glow shader called hammertime.fx (Edit - apologies butt_sahib, your first shader link is an improved version of hammertime.fx)
Grimwolf RaptorCWS Thanks for the reply. I mean hi poly 3d models(non-realtime/game and non-3d printable like http://www.shapeways.com/) Sorry that I didn't mention it in the original post p.s edited the original post
it would be awesome if version 2 had some sort of fake realtime reflections like screen space reflection in cryengine. for now, you can try faking it by duplicating the mesh and mirroring it to the ground, but would only work for ground reflection.
I thought ATI fixed their OpenGL issues some time last year? OpenCL will be nice when its stable, but I think for now the only art related GPGPU project that isnt using CUDA is the realtime Luxrender spinoff.
Flipped green? You render it with Max, right? Even my best models/maps have seams when I take the wrong render engine. Did you try some realtime shader + lights or is this scanline/mental ray?
yeah spotted this. thanks! The cgfz sgader looks great- I kind of got it working today and will continue to work on getting it up and running once I build the realtime model for my current project. Thanks all for the help! ~P~
You are right about the arms and hands- now after a while of relax I can see that too And the pants- down part of that "baggy" pants will be on realtime cloth so i think, that could be visual attractive- will see in game Cheers
Quick start on a realtime Rorshach face shader. I've got a few ideas for making it cooler looking. Maybe soon I'll get a real model done, then I'll use this with actual textures. http://vimeo.com/3524138 CLICK FOR VIDEO.
