Couple of updates for today - we just presented our work for our beta deadline so I'm taking the rest of today off for a small break but I'll be back on my game tomorrow =) Firstly, my first pass at hand-painted detail on the secondary trunk for the cat tree. I like this one more than the main trunk painting because I made…
Thanks! Yeah I was trying to add something interesting to the model. I suppose the next step would be to have the computer on a desk with all sorts of paper, coffee mugs and a lamp etc. For the next one :)

Progress so far for Zero from the Mega Man Zero series. My next step is to sculpt, bake AO, and add more details to the flat diffuse. [IMG][/img] Used the crease tool in Maya and GoZ to start on my sculpt. [IMG][/img]
Yeah no need to split it up in that sense for game-production stuff. You can contain all your meshes regardless what 'material' it is, into one UV texture, to save yourself from doing that step.
I've been working into the chest, shoulders, arms and the general shape of the body. Also I started with the face. These are some close ups of the character. Next step: finish the body and start to add details to the mesh.
Keep in mind that there would never be that much moss around the steps if the stairs are frequently used. Maybe it's supposed to be abandoned, in which case it makes sense, but I think it blends too much into the rocks around it.
