Looks great you should try to focus yout lighting more. Now your scene is littlr flat and is missing contrast. Its all the same value with some light sources that dont light the scene very dramatically Keep rolling looks great
Went back and redid the mesh low poly, it was a 5k Tri limit not poly so misread on my part :P, anyways hes 4300 tris with his props, and about 5k with the scene. The scene comes from the teleportation system he used in the game.
Awesome looking scene and incredible texture work. Though now after you've added dirt and grime to your scene I feel that the left area is too clean (on the last image) But I guess you are already know that so :) anyways awesome job!
MaxStart.max is a file that you can create yourself, with anything you want in it. You place it in the appropriate Scene folder (according to how you set it up in the User Paths preferences) and from there on, every time Max starts it will load the contents of that scene. By default there is none.
If you're creating concept art, it depends. There's a wide gamut in your subject matter. Are you making fully textured and lit 3d scenes with minimal overpaint? Or are you making blockout scenes with heavy overpaint? Some examples of your existing work would help.
2 ways you use the scene hierarchy viewer and just expand the prefab so you can see the meshes with in. or click the object in the scene, which select the whole prefab, than while the prefab is selected click it again whcih selects the mesh in the prefab
Models and bakes are simply great. This scene coming along nicely but I think you can add some pieces to make it more lively. Some coffe glasses, sticker notes, office stationery etc. that would sell the scene better. And than it will be super-awesome!
The rendering took a while to complete I created 2 scenes one of Groucho standing and another with Groucho sitting at the bar, with a rather funny bar monster ! I usually split my renderings up into scenes giving the computer and me a brake between renderings.
i think overall the execution of this is good. especially for 2 days, but you really need to focus on lighting now. everything is pretty dark in the scene, and you should try to find a balance of light and dark. take a look at this thread and watch how the scene progresses.
Ok, guys, update time. Still working on this specular on the floor. I almost like the textures. I have to do few fixes with the scene. I'm very excited about that scene. First big project. 3D Max - Vray and Photoshop. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
