It's pretty hard to test your app because of the severe limitations on texture size. If you must put a limitation on the program just add a water mark when users try to save a texture out but allow users to open any file size they want. While I'm curious about the program, I don't feel like spending time making 256…
totally agree with on both points, still working on the light to get it to be not so dark in that section. Also ill see what the floor looks with a 512 instead of a 256. also its not carpet its some kind of super reflective marble or something. I'll hopefully get these updates up soon enough.:poly142:
I'm a wee bit confused on what you mean over getting fired on the roofs. The roof in the concept drawing is open for interpretation as it currently is, it implies some sort of shingling but is not descriptive. I'd say being able to interpret a concept is important, and so is knowing when to change something if it will…
Here's an update from the past few days. I'm almost finished with it. I'll probably do a few more texture tweaks and add some loose shingles to the edges of the roof with the remaining triangles I have. I also have 256x256 of texture space left that I might use for a plaster damage decal. @Gobee, is this wireframe better?…
Scrake and I were thinking about doing the same thing for the new year event; I've been looking at the poly limits on the default and while they might not be exactly the same they should be a good rough indicator of what the poly limits would be. These are GUESSES based on the default, they will probably be slightly (or…
If you're planning on connecting these pieces, be sure to stay to the grid and keep a unit size in mind. A common one being powers of 2, usually 16 or 32 being the smallest. This way if the length is 256 it can connect to other that are 256, and when you have a corner it will also fit with having to fudge meshes or vert…
Listen to Muzz. all of the basics that you are learning now will help you greatly when you are treading through those 2500 polygons, fixing errors. Keep going with these.
Here is a stab at a mockup for thread layout. In passing, working on it I realized that the forum update might have been designed on a 2560 pixels wide screen used as main monitor (hence the oversized fonts), while I would expect most users to view it on a secondary display - therefore I included a 1920*1200 frame for…
Quick update here, reworking my Knight and am still working on the texture as you can see. Right now he is approximately 2500 polys, and is using a 1024 texture sheet.
