A few guys here at Epic use it too. That tends to be the situation for Modo ... they never get total studio buy-in like Autodesk does, but there tend to be a few artists who use it anyway. Hell, I use it for some stuff because the modeling tools are so damned nice.
I've added a new interview with Brian Fasten, a QA analyst contractor that is working at Epic Games. Come listen about what it takes work in QA, the pluses and minus's of the games industry, and some tips for people that are just getting started in the industry. Link: https://youtu.be/vyVpnpVkyq0
You missed out what I consider too be one of the most important features in games. The soundtrack. Gameplay, story, enviros, etc are all great but without music its not nearly as epic. MDK is a great example of a great game made even better with a great soundtrack.
id be careful using particles, as i'd like to reiterate that i dont think epic's udk builds have instanced particles so this could get heavy (love to be proved wrong though!) i think speedtree is the number 1 route to go, if it does indeed do this.
Heh Johnny, yeah that's the thing I was talking about. It's awesome, and the fact you can then order your custom Lego sets complete with instructions and box is just plain incredible. Well, until you build an epic creation and then find our the price... Hours of fun nonetheless.
I can't put my finger on it but I enjoyed 1 more than 2, even though 2 was more 'epic'. 1 felt like I could get behind the characters and story, in 2 most of the time I just felt 'what??' at what was going on.
I hope the killing to regen your health is more varied and not the same animation every single time. I saw a play through where they had one animation over and over and over. Apart from that, the game looks pretty solid! i like that epic hammer.
i think the helm and the shoulder are VERY epic. looks rly rly good! reminds a little of wow shaman but still works for me. ..but the weapon isnt rly special and letting the wolf appear a third time is also little too much (jsut my opinion^^) greetings
That's really cool of you to put up the model for others to texture/rig/animate or w/e. I'm sure lots of people will appreciate being able to practice those things without having to spend tons of time on an epic model and bake like this. Good stuff.
"Really feels like a wow levelgrind most of the times but where is the sense in that if theres no city where u can represent all the epic gear u have?" Don't include wow in the description of anything, cheapens all of it. I'd prefer to consider this game: Diablo: Shooting Edition.
