@tholmes3d Thanks a lot, I will work on improving it! oh and this is just some practice as I am just starting to learn this , not for a game or a showreel But its interesting, I didnt have things like the view on the character in mind while doing the animation
In a studio environment Kit bashing/using base meshes is a common practice but if you couldn't make the base mesh by your self or are using it because you feel like you couldn't make it as good then that's basically cheating your self haha

Keep practicing dude, really love the attitude to improve yourself and to absorb creative criticism... it's already a huge step towards being a better artist. Listen to everything said here, there's nothing left for me to comment on besides complimenting on the positive attitude.
They just don't hide the fact that they want your money very well and for stuff that is ready at launch no less aswell. The sooner in app purchase culture disappears the better IMO Their studios are great, just bad business practices as others have said.
Heres another one. Nobody's giving me any feed back but imma keep doing my thing :3 But no seriously. I just moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the game industry. I need to get better. Always be practicing.
Thank you for the insight! I actually just finished watching a tutorial from DT over SubD surfaces and the tools seem to be much better. Is it common practice for the finer points of game models to be transformed in SubD's then converted to polygons before export?
Thanks Aaron! Hopefully there will be something about Depth online soon! Been working hard to try and improve my hand painting and concept/ paintover skills the past few weeks. I'm going to be trying to practice wood & metal over the weekend.
I really appreciate the feedback! I can definitely see the issues you're talking about more clearly now. I'm going to be taking a little step back from this model to practice some related techniques before addressing these changes.
as long as employer doesn't have to browse through tons of useless and distracting shit, it doesnt matter what you use, be it blogspot or DAportfolio example given above is perfect, though I'd avoid using too small thumbs, no practical reason for that
