That stone wall texture is pretty damn impressive. Great work! Are you planning on sticking religiously to the original model, as you have permission from the creators? Or are you merely going to use the full thing as 'inspiration'?
i know xnview creator is working on a multiplatform version atm, so i guess he doesn't have the time to integrate new tools for now, but then, i'm sure he will be open for polycounts suggestions aswell.

Maya has an OBJ importer/exporter built in. The original creators of Maya made the format in the first place. You need to switch it on in the plugin manager before you can use it though (look for "OBJexport.mll" in the list).
Hawken: Since 7. Also, the Solidworks video *is the video. Just look at it, you'll see. It's not an official Wacom announcement, it's the touch-enabled Cintiq showing up in the video, probably as an attempt by the Solidworks creators to ride the buzz ;)
