use more photos next time! learning to observe and compare to reference will help you more than anything else. anyone saying this is perfect as-is clearly is lacking in that skillset. also watch your edge widths, some of your edges are much too thin and will bake down poorly. -

I agree @lotet it's been one of the things I've wrestled with over the course of the project. I'm thinking of enlarging the gap between the edge if the parchment and where the actual map imahe begins. Another possibility is puncinpu up the edge highlight on the map itself. What would you suggest? -

@zachagreg A mixture of zbrush booleans and Maya's creasing. Booleans that aren't overly complex I do it in Maya and crease the edges then send it to Zbrush via GoZ. For boolean shapes that require alot of cleanup later I just use live booleans. Creased edges marked in heavier blue. -

Nice job so far, but the awning just doesn't seem to fit. Awning colors typically match (or at least coordinate with) the building's trim color. The geometry also doesn't work; the far edge of the hanging cloth is much longer than the near edge, and the bowed-in shape feels inverted. -

Worry more about the normals/shading until much later. Newly added edges don't always pop in the way you actually need them. Personally, I reset everything to hard edges periodically until I have good base forms (when it's not distracting to be smoothed). -

I would suggest breaking up the edge where the gravel meets the wall. Just something a little more organic and interesting instead of the straight edge you have atm. Other than that, it's coming along nicely :) I like your brick texture so far, too. -

I have never tried baking before, so I wanted to make sure I do it right. Thanks for the feedback on the edges, now that I look at it I agree. Its mean't to be metal, and its probably going to be worn, so smoother edges would do no harm. -

I added now a knife to the props, but I will need to correct some of the hard edges. I will see how I will handle the bandings, as I don't want it to look fresh. I guess today I will take a look at the edges as suggest by mystichobo before moving on to the next pouches. -

1) You're not wrong a hard edge requires a UV seam but a UV seam does NOT require hard edgeit is almost always beneficial though. (When talking about a model that will use a baked normal map) 2) Not all applications support material IDs (or cage baking for that matter) -

It really depends on the fold, For small ones 3 is usually ok, but for larger, rounder ones you will probably need a couple of pulled out edges in the middle to give a rounder crease, and with some of those, have the edges come together at the end so the crease tapers into a smaller, sharper fold.
