First thing i would say is ask yourself this question: Do i look like this, or in the case of something a bit more stylized: Would it look like this. Im pretty confident if you take reference at hand you will find flaws in your anatomy that will gradually disappear from your work if you really step away from it and hold it… -

You can always just try drawing things, try figure drawing to improve, and another good resource I find pretty helpful is the stuff at Ctrl+Paint When I feel sort of unmotivated I normally will try to just draw more simple things or pieces of things. Like if I'm not feeling up to drawing full characters I can practice… -

One thing I keep seeing up with this piece is that the functions are kind of iffy...why the double jaws...its better if you also tell us what the demon really is before you keep adding on to it. From this piece it looks like you're going for a more dead decayed state on the skin...in that case some more hints of gangrene… -

Find a buddy or two and whip up a prototype, nothing big, a level or even a piece of a level, that can show the gameplay/overall experience in a compact package.
