Well I'm back at work and just purchased a replacement iPod, a new sketchbook, mechanical pencil and kneadable eraser. But on my desk I found this book waiting for me with a sticky note saying "Hope you're feeling better Dude! heart symbol Pitch + John". HAHAHA, assholes! -caseyjones
Are you drawing on your own time, for like 1/2 or 1 hour, each day? Set that simple goal, of drawing every day. Bring a sketchbook and pencil with you wherever you go, fill in those empty times.
What a fantastic Constitution-class starship! I've put in a request to toggle texture filtering and enable pencil painting among the other things you mentioned - our 3DO programmer will take a look at this thread. Thanks for bringing it up!
This looks pretty straightforward to me...the only glaring thing at this point are 1) the edges of the desk organizer in your photo are a LOT more rounded than in your model and 2) it seems to me like you're using a lot more polys in the pen and pencil than necessary. Otherwise, fine...keep going!
This is coming along REALLY nicely! :D If I can suggest one thing, it's to reduce the contrast on the spirals. It's drawing my eye to it so completely. The texturework is DAMN nice! Great job!!! Ohh.. something I sometimes do to force a 'painted' look, is use the pencil tool, rather than the airbrush. :)
PYRZERN Hey man, np. Before I answer your question I would like you to get a pen/pencil and paper then read/watch the links. Take notes :) . If you still don't understand then I'll be happy to answer. CATZCRATCH Thanks for the compliment :) It's a hard life being a scrub ;p
Ahh that's too bad, a copy of someone's notes would be awesome. I took my laptop back out to the car since there was no power near the front for us poor vision folks. Next time I'll know to bring pencil/paper.. :) Lots of good info, but need a photographic memory. :D
Decided to go for a more cartoony approach for my current recall animation, and wanted to break off from the reference heavy first attempt you can see in the above posts! Here is an attempt to previs it with grease pencil (I'm terrible at drawing but trying to improve!) https://syncsketch.com/sketch/1eb4b408e818/#320979
I have this problem with some of my inserts too. A workaround is to go into Picker > Orientation and click once on the "pencil" icon, which defaults to screen orientation. Hopefully someone knows what I'm doing wrong when making them, though.
If it's props I would use unique textures. Just make sure the shader complexity and the texture size are appropriate for the prop. Like if you were putting a pencil in the scene you wouldn't use a 512 texture for or have some fancy shader.
