You should mention what platform/specs are you aiming for. Low poly can mean anything from mobile phones, current gen consoles, PC or the really retro stuff (PS1 or Nintendo DS). And if you're following a PBR/AAA workflow, you'll still need to model a High Poly version to save the normal maps info from.
I appreciate that... and that is exactly what I'm hoping for. Don't get me wrong... it's more than 75 polys total in the model... it's 94 faces according to Blender... but still hey... it's low. I'm not sure if there are any DS homebrew players about, but I'd be happy to post and share progress here (animation I'm working…
damn you suck you beat me to it! I was going to make a G1 soundwave and rumble, but only on a DS stat. Oh well i'll make them anyway, I just wont be quite as original anymore haha awesome job my friend love the little platform, just like the figuring I own right now
what, compared to XBOX? Besides live it's just an ugly computer. It's like comparing Apples and oranges, they both circle make crappy products, but apples has the DS and oranges have a rehashed mobile PSone. Poop: I ment as a bad decision in a next console, like anal probe controllers or whatever they're talking about for…
I actually think the second version looks better. Big textures tend to look horrible in tiny screens imo. They always make the scene look so busy. This is specially true for DS/IPhone games. If you are using unique sets only for ambient occlusion you can change to tiling textures and bake the AO to the vertex color channel.
Nintendo has been sued because some sophomoric idiot (35, living with his mom, playing games all day, epileptic) died during a seizure and they were afraid that a simple notice in the manual will not suffice so they put it on the bootup screen of the DS or newer Cube games. Sometimes I think starting frivolous lawsuits…
Just curious if anyone here is doing Iphone apps or Android Apps in their spare time. I remember seeing the Free DS 3D model viewer/engine stuff get posted and was hoping there was some way to easily get some low poly models into a viewer or something into the Iphone. Are there any good forums that talk about…
Hand holding has gotten really bad these days in some cases. Played a game called SolaToRobo on DS about 2 years ago and even 10-20 hours in it still felt the need to re-explain basic controls like jump, throw, etc. regularly. The hand holding was so over the top it eventually ruined the game for me.
super thread necromancy- hard to believe the first post was 10-07-2006 This just seemed like too much fun- painting the texture before the model was something I did a lot when I worked on DS characters. Well, bringing it back to the start- here's what I made with your green texture rooster :D
Oh maannn, going to check all these out. Dungeon Hunter 2 looked really cool Tim, and it sounds like you're having a great time so I may pick that up next. Also I didn't even know ff3 was out on iphone, anyone play it... is it any good? Never got a chance to play it on DS.
