I know it's a year and a half later, but are you still interested in the swap? I've got a Mac license and am looking for a PC license. Also if anybody else who is searching for this in the future is looking for a swap (I have a mac license, I'm looking for PC) I'd love to trade! Thanks Sam
yeah, I agree. In future, If I wanted to dabble with the hard surface I'd do a prop since its more closely related and can be part of a character project. My environment project in my blog was more for me than anything else. Learning a few things I wanted to learn.
It should be predictable and problem solving should be easy if you think about it logically and understand the process. Randomly changing settings isn't ever going to get you a solution that you can use on every other model in the future. Look at the image you posted and say what you think the problem is.
Thank you for taking part, iconoplast is right the survey is designed to gather information from an individuals perspective, based upon what the individual has experienced. I do understand some of these questions are vague/general/not related to a particular game etc and therefore need re-jigging, this will help me in the…
Hi thanks for the feed back, my goal was to learn the pipeline of bringing a high poly character to a low poly char for a games console, which i think i have learnt quite alot in the process, plan to do many different charcter styles in the future focusing more on the charcter itself.
Certainly respectable for a fist shot! In the future, I'd recommend you post WIPs as you go. It's a lot less useful to give specific critique now, since you couldn't implement it without more or less redoing the character from scratch. Take your time, and use a ton of references and critiques.
Yes, I tried every single one of them and even Patina didn't work. Everything is set on 0 and I can't find anything else besides my messy alpha channels in Photoshop. I'll look into that when I'm making another AWP skin in the future. Thanks for your help!
With the thread turning in to a debate between just a few members, this thread is now closed for an undetermined amount of time. It may reopen in the future if necessary. For now, though, we'd like to cool things off. If you feel this thread was wrongfully closed, email me personally here: adam(at)polycount(dot)com.
Something for the future, find a way to blend the objects in the sand better together with the desert. I think the whole thing looks great, but it's the boat that really unfortunately drags it down. It looks like you just slapped some random texture on there. It doesn't feel like metal, and it doesn't feel cracked and…
Or Gordon gets captured and put in stasis and wakes up in the future. But I really don't think they'll cross over like that, I think they'll keep them separate, although it would be awesome if Gordon gets some awesome assistance from the portal universe not necessarily from Chell herself...
