Lamont, I found cases very confusing when I was using them in blit3d, not sure why. i was trying to use them to code my animation system. I will have a good luck through your explanation though, thanks for posting that.
Particles are rendered camera facing, there may be some sorting options to change within the particle system but that would mean that they'd render through everything (Sort order: UnrealForeground etc.) You'd be better off using a lensflare since they render on top of the scene.
Since you're on Windows you can tend to use DirectX \ Direct3D, and only switch to OpenGL if you feel something is not working right. It's not that OpenGL "won't work as well", it's that you're sure that DirectX should work fine since it's built for that operating system.
Little experiment from yesterday night. How it's done: * box with color of the background, with hole cut where the door is * unlit shading, so there is no visible difference to background * particle system to distribute some stars in the box * bloom & DOF to make stars pretty
I'm definately going to get this. Ever since the shock series took a pure shooter path and rid the inventory system, stalke touched the perfect spot, exploration and its inventorysystem, I love grabbing stuff, repairing others, and throwing away the crap.
if you have the perseverance I recommend doing something else for a bit, eg make something in a completely different style or make a character sculpt etc then come back to the environment when youve had some fun and got that out of your system :)
the trick is to use modular pieces that are just the right size so that you don't have to use too many of them. Also a lot of game engines will have lodding and culling systems that reduce/remove actors when they're not visible or far away.
Hi walter, The .key is needed for the standalone version of Substance Painter: the application will ask for its location when you launch it (for the first time) since the new license system. If you use Steam version, you don't need the .key file. Cheers
I would highly recommend against using 1.8 if you plan to use Suite 2's reimporter - it's not exactly compatible with Suite 2, and the work you put into it may be unable to transfer into the new backend systems that Suite 2 uses to operate.
i second krita the symmetry tools are awesome you can put your symmetry line where you want and it will draw the symmetry in realtime you also have radial symmetry which is alot of fun playing with also the brush system rocks :)
