My two cents.. The first reminds of Sparta.. so such a small shield may be okay. For the battle axe: if you wanna go realistic you might want to make it smaller/ lighter.. even halberds aren't this heavy.. or.. if you are going more fantasy you might reconsider the handle (thicker).. imagine the force at the end of it if… -

i think you are in a good position to look through some posted artwork that is similar to this. Look at what you might be able to add from them, such as darkening areas between the elements or grime ect,ect, to the materials. There is a recently posted blade and shield you can reference to push this further if you wanted… -
