The shin has 2 armour pads with an indent halfway down, doesn't read very well, looks like odd lumpy armour. Is it a very long knee pad and a very short shin pad?
Thanks for the advice! Instead of armour I was thinking of just some big epic antlers or something, but I do like the armour idea. I think I'll sketch out some designs. Here are some head designs I was playing with:
The Metroid power armour proportions have always been a bit strange. She'd have to have enormously broad shoulders to fit into it properly. Perhaps if you're doing your own redesign you could make the armour more anatomically correct.
Day8: After modifying the armor from it's initial design I was able to break down the polygon count from 86k to 60k by removing the 1st breastplate, arm bands, and the armored belt. I then created even more assets to place on the Samurai which did bring the polygon count back up to 80k, but with plenty more parts for the…
The head armour does appear to be the same shape as the horn. It's possible that he alphaed out the horn and then applied the armour over the resulting hole, although if that is the case he did a damn good job of covering the seam.
Thanks Voff. Yeah. I've made them a little fatter. I think the bulky armour was contributing to that as well. Also his head was way too high so I pulled it down a bit. Update. I'll be redesigning the armour at some point.
This is the trim texture I have made for the knight. IT tiles on the rope, Armour guiding, and the rolled edge of the armour. It looks really nice for those up close shots. This is presented in marmoset, however I'll be presenting this dude in unreal.
Looks cool man! Really digging the armour on his torso. Maybe it would look cool to have the same kind of tattoo that he has on his arms come up on his neck from under the armour.
Current Updates :D with armour set 1 on (1 of 2 modular sets) close ups of face! Individual sculpted and textured armour assets C&C welcome as always :d will try and upload some better BPR renders of assets later or tomorrow :)
looking at the concept, the shoulder armour is what should make up the additional "broadness" in her upper body. with that in mind you should really think about going back to basics on her body, get that right, and then move on to the armour.
