Agreed: either alpha map it, or if you must have the detail in high poly use something like illustrator to create the flat lace shape. Import the curves into maya and create one or more nurbs trim surfaces, then deform those surfaces with an FFD or other deformer to match to the body shape.
I know it's a little dated, and I'm not sure what the users here think of it (I just signed up, hello everybody) but the Joan of Arc tutorial will take you through some good steps in developing the body. http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/body3.php
eff that. I hate to be the negative nancy but the chances of a film made in a summer by 2 students will sell anywhere is pretty low, Drop that fool and work on your own stuff. If you really want to work on a group project find someone who can meld with better, there is no point to deal with him.
I'm glad to hear that RSS is in the works... In the mean time thanks for that dapper link pyromania! I created this RSS Feed for the Paid Job Postings Forum:…
And here's a mini image showing a practical use for the ViewSlicer script. Throw in some Tesselate modifier, and some Bends or FFDs and it makes shape design extremely easy - a few minutes of work really. Then, Remesh in Zbrush, and its ready for more rough sculpting and/or to be used as a template for 2D concepting! P
Congrats, Skrubbles, this one came out great! The face is superb. The arms strike me as the weakest part of the character. The FFX esque sleeve looks out of place, and the other arm is rather dull. Nothing wrong, they just don't seem to be on par with the rest of the model. Saved to reference folder for sure.
This is looking insanely lovely. Following it has been great. I really like how you've showcased your foliage and the breakdown. When modeling do you just use a lot of FFD movement to get the waviness and organic shapes? How do you approach texturing? Altogether, stunning work :)
A thousand times yes to Shenmue 3! First two were amazing. Resident Evil 2 Remake Baldurs Gate 3 Ghosts and Ghouls sequel in HD Kingdom Hearts 3 FF7 Remake...if only.. Stalker 2 Fallout 4 ..they could do so much with it Elder Scrolls 6
also this script will write your whole scene to a .ms file you can run with any version of max http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/bff-bobos-file-format Good thing about this is it saves your smoothing groups and everything so you dont loose any information.
Indie game the movie is worth it if you haven't seen it yet, as well as Binding of Isaac, Binding of Isaac also has great music (I'm surprised they don't have its soundtrack). Does anyone know much about the EFF? I'm not sure how much I want to give them.
