I have two of the Dell U2311H displays and like them a lot -- I think they were $240 each on sale. IPS panels, 1920x1080, and pretty good color accuracy when calibrated. Obviously they won't compare to the high-end NEC or Eizo displays, but those seem unnecessary unless you need flawless accuracy for $$$ projects.
You can make all those boards floaters that simply intersect and overlap. Including those chamferered edges it'll be 8 polys / 12 verts per board: In an example of a 15x15 grid of boards, that comes to a total of 240 polys and 360 vertices: ... instead of 4349 polys and 3960 verts. Floaters will also be beneficial for UVs.
The srgb button is enabled in the vray FB so it's displaying the image as gamma corrected. But this is essentially a preview(see this by disabling it) When you save your image click the radio button 'override' and set it to 1.0 This will save the image as you see it in the FB. You can also do this in PS by doing a levels…
ysalex: you want a monitor that isn't wide gamut or that has a high quality sRGB gamut emulation mode. Strictly speaking, this is unrelated to linear workflow (as all monitors will be targeting gamma 2.2, regardless of color space size) but if you are concerned about linear workflow accuracy than you will certainly not…
Lense quality is also an important factor in the overall IQ. Cheap zoom lenses usually perform badly at larger apertures, so definately try stopping down to f/8. Prime lenses are amazingly sharp, especially the cheapo nikkor 50mm f/1.8. Here's a snapshot taken with the lense stopped down to f/2.2, no pp done at all. 100%…
your video really intrigued me , and so I just gave this plugin a go, but when sending to zbrush I get this error message: // Error: file: C:/Users/XXXX/Documents/maya/2016.5/scripts/DcBoolManager.mel line 232: Cannot find procedure "Unfold3D". // I've checked to see perhaps Unflod3D was toggled off in the plugin manager,…
SideFX has quite a lot of videos to get you started. Not my favorite tho, I found their example a bit difficult to stay interested sometimes. http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=222&Itemid=383 And there's Peter Quint. Really excellent tutorials, some are quite old but still informative.…
Harry Potter films are also considered to be unprofitable for the studios. Here's the receipt for Order of the Phoenix. https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20100708/02510310122.shtml "In that statement, you'll notice the "distribution fee" of $212 million dollars. That's basically Warner Bros. paying itself to make sure the…
I haven't had much time to 3D today, so I'll just upload the little i've got done to not leave the day empty but today mesh is part of tomorrow's (hopefully tomorrow i'll have the time) . It's one of those cleaning things found on shinto shrines. The model is around 240 verts and i could probably reduce it further.
