Re: Foliage Implementation in UDK?
The Terrain Foliage System has been removed in a recent UDK Update, presumably to be replaced with an improved Version at some point. Meanwhile you're pretty much stuck to either using scattered Static Meshes or Deco Layers ( ugh ). -

I have read that using the crytek materials as base , like replacing their textures with urs solves the problem , but the problem is that I am on the blue mars editor and I dunno if I can import those materials do u ? -

Because your diffuse is almost solid black. Replace it with a constant 0.5 or rgb 128 (solid neutral gray), and test. Also, try setting your dominate directional like to 1.5 or 5 brightness. And type ToggleHUD in the console. -

i've only done like 15 minutes worth of work on the gun, i think i'm gonna replace it with something else the gun's just there so she can have something to hold :P might finish it later... -

are the displacement maps going to need to be that high res? id imagine you could get a lot done silhouette wise with a relatively low res map. i mea this isnt going to replace normal maps for fine detail is it? -

modeled the last tile that wasnt done and put them together how they will connect in the scene also edited all posts and replaced the images with links, so this thread wont be so bandwidth hungry here´s the final layout -

Thanks for the critique MoP, and thanks for the info Rorshach. I'll keep working and maybe go into debt for an up-to-date computer to replace the p.o.s. that I have at the moment. Also looking forward very much to that tutorial Rorshach, that will be awesome. -

I definitely agree, those trees look like pooh... in fact, pooh in place of those trees would be an improvement. The rest of the scene looks very nice so replace the trees and it'll look so much better. -
