As a canadian, you can pretty easily get a 1 year work visa. H1b? We had a guy who came down to work for us at 8ml with that, and i'm pretty sure its "renable" so it can be more of a long term thing potentially.
Anything by Looking Glass. Another vote for System Shock 1+2 (Play 2 with the rebirth update). Terranova was squad based play years before swat/rainbow six etc and had fmv cut scenes which actually told a decent story.
blender's file format - according to the internet - is nasty. with that in mind I'd be inclined to write a script that dumped metadata out to separate file (json/xml/whatever) on save and catalog that. There's probably a bunch of open source database tools that handle standard formats like that instead
It looks like you painted some matcap on the character. So if you switch to another matcap it displays both. It's easy to fix. At the top of the screen, select just the M mode (not Mrgb!) and click Color > Fill object. It will fil the selected subtool with the current matcap.
Yeah, it's a pain that one. Simply deleting the offending XML file sorts it out (Max creates a new, clean one on start-up). I think one of the service packs fixed that issue, though - might be worth installing them if you haven't already.
EQ ftl. Break my heart you do, asking me to... Do work. I'll do a final render of the high poly once the UV map is done. btw - Thanks for that Photoshop tip. Going to be trying it out tonight. Here you go:
Track leads and a few others were v- on FM5. Folks they wanted on continuously from early pre-production all the way to RTM. My track lead was v-, and a very seasoned Valve alum who I had a blast working with and learning from.
If you're using the model to make a normal map, floaters save modeling time, no doubt about it. Only downside is it takes a bit more work to make an ambient occlusion pass, but it's still quite do-able. Some info. http://wiki.polycount.net/Ambient_Occlusion_Map#FMP
hmm yeah I suppose making modular pieces would be my best bet. Making the nml a separate piece. My only problem is seamlessly blending everything together, but that'll be sometime to deal with when the time comes I guess. Anyways thanks for the advice!
FMP-24 machine pistol If you get bored and dont feel like polishing a design ADD MORE FILTERS. ( Please dont do that.) I dont do guns much so I might go back and tighten up the design of all the bits.
