I agree with pliang. It looks like you just ran a crazybump or nvidia normal pass on the diffuse. When-ever you are using a 2d photo to generate normals it ALWAYS has to be preped first. Cool, so you made him in a 3D modeler and exported to their format and uploaded? The guy presenting only went into creation methods using their primitives, not external 3D apps. Doesn't baking lightmaps like that mean a) there's no tiling and b) the textures are huge? I cant imagine how they cope with all this user created…
