Microneezia: I totally agree about not adding any depth to the pieces, but seeing as the pieces on the smaller extension in front will be really close to the player - don't you think i will need more than 2 tris per piece? I was thinking that i would have to spend a little extra (+100 tris a piece) on the roofing otherwise… -

if you prefer CRT: buy a used one: sony GDM5411. most excellent picture in history. very high quality 21 inch beast. 130 or so euros + shipping, off lease (2-3 years old). you can get it rebranded as ibm, sun or sgi and i believe dell as well. -
