At this point I went back and redid the text / skull / broken screen at proper res. The skull shape changed many times throughout the texturing process as I adjusted it to achieve the look I wanted.
If you're rendering out of marmo, green screen the sucker so you can do whatever you like with the background. A gradient and bars usually looks better than a flat tone or color imo.
[updated, took some screens from the Uneal 1 editor] - this was the kinda of cow I'm aiming at, but with two extra claw-like things : The cow from the original unreal (same model, different skin).
for pc version 4-5 k is our goal at the momment, with an aditional head model at around 5k for it, that is more detailed, the head pops up on the screen to give you information or to taunt another player

Maybe it has something to do with the auto masking. u cant try switching on/off the mask by polygroup and mask by topological option. and try to add some screen shots of the mesh from next time.
At Dice we saved FBX files which was imported into FrostEd. Any changes done in Maya could then just be refreshed and displayed directly on screen. I guess its more or less the same as in UDK.
Yeah. Some samsungs are great. but what i want is a 24 incher. Needs me some real estate on the screen. This one has PIP and 1:1 pixel mapping so thats cool.
They also won't be noticable on screen unless they're this big ;) It's video game magic ! edit: Adam - I didn't intend for this to be an art pimp, more of an informative post. But move it where you think is best :)
Have you thought about a laptop cooler, something like this - Mind you, this particular one is good only for laptops with 15" of smaller screens. It'll certainly keep your laptop much cooler.
