Yes, don't make 3 point lighting setup :P Lighting in life, cinema and games is so much more than that. Can be one light like 10 lights. I've run into face-selection issues the few times I've used Maya, but I can't judge an application on that, as it may have been me. Well thats just the problem, that the vertcount shown in Mayas heads up display isn't *correct*. From what I understand a vertex, when exported, can only store one value when it comes to uvs and vertex normals so if the vertex is part of a hard edge or has more than one uv-coordinate then it will "split" into a new vertex.… -

The second one is a bug that occurs on Nvidia cards with 2 or more displays. You can either fix this by using PS on the primary display, or by decreasing hardware acceleration on the secondary display to something lower than 100%, or get the latest video drivers (from March).
