Hello! Can you help me figuring out the problems of these artifacts above? Picture #1- Is it due to wrong vertex normal? Picture #2 - Same as #2? Picture #3- Why is this happening? Should I create my custom cage? If so, how do I hijack custom cage in Maya (In bulk)? Thank you!
If you are using Maya you can check out Ninja UV. or Ninja Dojo. http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/marketplace/scripts-plugins/texturing/c/ninja-uv--2 http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/marketplace/scripts-plugins/interface-display/c/ninja-dojo-black-belt--2
In Max, have you tried assigning a 2-sided material to the objects before baking? I used to have that issue before I did that, and really couldn't for the life of me explain why the 2-sided material works, but it did, in both scanline and Mental ray. Edit: Ninja'd by Bryan!!!
Bake it to 4 sided cylinder if you're not gonna get too close. you wont need alpha Up close id go with number 2 . If the links were fatter you could go with 2 but made of closed boxes cos you probably wouldnt need the alpha there either
Really good work you got there. Only thing I would say is in your Gun Club 2 work you have your guns in a random order. You should put the 3 Bren Mark 2 Rifle images all together, same thing with the Mateba pistol.
say what? 1 tri = 3 verts 2 tris = 4 verts 3 tris = 5 verts mathematically speaking, your vert cound is n+2 where n = tri count. you would then need to add additional verts for hard edges caused by UV seams.
In map, create a material of the type "Multi/Sub Object". This allows you to assign multiple maps to one object. Stick the walls in slot 1, the doors in slot 2 etc. Then in the model set all the wall faces to material id 1, and the doort, windows etc to mat id 2....
As a working professional Photo Retoucher, I can say 2 things about the healing brush: #1: It makes my basic first pass retouch 10x faster #2: It makes anybody who can pick up photoshop and click the healing brush think they are a great retouch artist.
[mobius plug no.2]max payne is quite a fun game- it's essentially the pc version but with isometric graphics, plus I worked on it :P[\mobius plug no.2] Mario Kart is awesome on the GBA- it's proper old school handling rather than the bastardised setup that the N64 and GC versions had
hehe if this is like battlefield 2 on PC then I might be doing the xbox360 controller for vehicles and then as soon as I jump out the vehicle change to mouse and keyboard - it was the only way I could really enjoy vehicles in battlefield 2 :P sucks when your trying to get used to it tho
