in your viewport settings, enable shade selected faces- sounds like thats what you're after. edit: oh in the unwrap window.. leme see I cant get it to display a red ring in the uv window, but if you do mean in the viewport then yeah it is shade selected faces
I've had similar issues in the past. I've found that simply hiding all the low poly faces fixes the problem, like previously mentioned. For some reason, though, hiding all the elements didn't work. I had to hide all faces, not elements, and that solved my issues.
yea i forgot to mention that i have been deleting history on each object before the boolean operation. Open faces. . . that could be the problem. I'll get some screen caps in a few. **no need for screens - i didn't notice the open face problem, all is well thanks**
ah, sorry, that's what I get for drinking on the job. No clue then. I always have shade faces on anyway so when I have faces selected in the UV editor, they're shaded red in the window. I tend to just work with UV verts most of the time though.
I dig it. The face looks like it might not be round enough, mainly in the face detail shot, but it could also be distortion from the camera lens your rendering with. I'd love to see a full body render so that nothing is cut off. But overall, awesome detail. It looks great.
I'd completely remove the beast's face except for the mouth to make it look less natural. Have some cybernetics join in there to replace its brain and make it obey the "rider". You could work on the "rider"'s face a bit to make him look more Strogg-like as well...
I completely agree with every statement . Moreover for many materials where surface is irregular enough there are a lot of self shadowing that a game engine would never do by itself and there is no other way but just fake them in the textures . Without those small shadows things would never look real. Also for almost…
I have to argue the point about Bethesda, out of my own personal opinion even their games are starting to go downhill a bit, I mean come on, you have to buy a special edition to play a new race for elder scrolls: online, I mean what are we paying £9 for. and Skyrim was a let down to its predecessor But that is my opinion…
The way you rendered the dress's material is fantastic :open_mouth: One thing that strikes me as odd is the right side of her mouth. I feel as if it needs to be a bit longer into the face. To me it looks like the part of the lips facing away from the camera is a lot bigger.
Thanks all for the comments :) Started blocking in the face/ anatomy. Using Imogen Poots for ref, she's got a tough face... so I appreciate any feedback ^^ Next up will be finishing off the anatomy so I can start creating her clothing in MD!
